CAMDEN — On Wednesday, August 10 at 5 p.m., Camden Public Library will host dancers from the P2P Dance Center in Camden, home of the Atlantic Ballet Company, for a free performance of “The Enchanted Storybook.” This original jazz ballet, created by directors Michele and Heather Cox, gives audiences a glimpse into the fairytale lives of five dancing princesses and their playful companions. The whimsical adventure will take place in the picturesque Camden Amphitheater.

The show will feature an oversized “Once Upon a Time” storybook to transport audiences through stories about Rapunzel, Snow White, Pocahontas, Ariel and Aurora. As each page is turned, a new landscape unfolds with colorful scenes, setting the stage for each princess and her circle of friends. The “Enchanted Storybook” ends with an animated finale, which celebrates the lives of these five fairy tale favorites.

The dancers will perform in “The Enchanted Storybook” as the culmination of the P2P Dance Center’s “Dance your Dream” summer camp program. Students participated in ballet, stretching and floor barre classes as part of a four to six week summer dance camp. The dancers learned hip hop, ballet, jazz and modern choreography, which they will perform in the next production.

This production is free and open to the public. If you would like to support P2P with their cost of production, please visit: p2pdance.com.

Please bring your own seat.

The rain date for the show is Thursday, August 11.
