Schoolhouse Theater Presents the World Premiere of “Canticle”! This is the world premiere of CANTICLE (God’s Fool), a play by the famous Martha Clarke. This is the first production of the beloved Schoolhouse Theater (Westchester’s oldest professional theater) since Covid. Presented at the magnificent Hammond Museum and the Japanese Stroll Garden, this is the first public performance in the history of MacArthur Genius Prize winner Martha Clarke on the mystic Saint Francis of Assisi, whose extraordinary rejection of wealth , the animosity against cruelty and the ethereal love of all animals is a parable that speaks deeply to our time. This dynamic production will debut in North Salem, travel to the legendary La Mama Theater on Off-Broadway and from there to Spoleto, Italy, before returning to the Hammond Museum for a summer outdoor revival in the Stroll Garden.
