Final push for Lenches Amphitheater funding

The committee behind an upcoming amphitheater in the Vale of Evesham is making a final fundraising push.

Church Lench will soon house the Lenches Amphitheatre, a 250-seat outdoor arena

The committee behind the project says it’s the final phase of a 20-year, community-fueled dream.

Committee member Louis Hancox said, “This is a unique and exciting community project, and we are in the process of raising funds to support the construction that is taking place this year.

“The Lenches Amphitheater is a unique and exciting modern amphitheater for the arts, set in the natural curve of the land

“The 250 seat venue will provide superb amenities for villagers, bringing theater and live music to Lenches, not to mention a fantastic place to watch cricket on a Saturday afternoon!

“This iconic outdoor venue will be a tremendous asset to the wider community, attracting a variety of artists and multi-generational audiences from everywhere.”

The Lenches Amphitheater will create a “fantastic place to watch cricket on a Saturday afternoon!” say the organizers

The amphitheater will be built next to the Lenches Sports and Recreation Club, offering ‘spectacular’ views over the Avon Valley.

A new building to the right of the amphitheater will offer a green room, with a modular space for a bar and large glass doors opening onto a balcony.

Funding for the project came from a Wychavon Community Legacy Grant of £95,000, as well as donations from local businesses.

However, more money is still needed, prompting the committee to hold a pledge auction at the Lenches Club on Saturday March 26.

All proceeds from the food sold in the evening, as well as all auction and raffle proceeds, will go to the new venue.

The auction lots include a two-night stay for four in a cottage on the River Wye, two tickets to the Goodwood Revival Meeting and a hot air balloon ride for two from Lenches Sports Club.

Ms Hancox added: ‘Local businesses and individuals have been incredibly generous, donating a huge range of lots to bid on.

“We think there’s something for everyone, whether you’re looking to treat yourself or your loved ones, try a new hobby or maybe tick something off your to-do list. make !

“In addition to those listed in the catalogue, certain lots will be made available exclusively in the evening and can only be bid on if you are in the room!
