Founded by Tony Brown and Jonathan Jay in 2018, Maverick City Music grew out of a series of songwriting camps dedicated to bringing together a wide range of artists from diverse genres who would not normally have the opportunity to be together in a play. Franklin is a songwriter, arranger and producer. After more than 30 years of continuous success and huge hits bridging hip-hop, pop, and gospel, Franklin’s “Love Theory” bowed to No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs chart and kept the position. locked for 39 weeks. The vibrant track marked the singer’s seventh No. 1 record and his second start at the top of the chart. “Love Theory” also opened at No. 1 on Gospel Streaming Songs as well as Gospel Digital Song Sales charts. The album “Long Live Love” and the single “Love Theory” won two Grammy Awards in January 2020.
