Local investor buys Main Street Theater for $850,000

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — A Columbiana investment firm has purchased the Main Street Theater at 11 N. Main St.

Ronjon Investments V LLC purchased the property for $850,000, according to the Columbiana County Auditor. The sale was completed on January 14. The theater was previously owned by My Theater Co. LLC, which purchased the property in February 2007 for $300,000.

Ronjon Investments lists an address at 100 Commerce Circle in Columbiana for tax purposes. State records list Raymond John Kufleitner, president of Columbiana Chrysler Jeep Dodge, as an agent for the company.

In April 2021, The Business Journal reports the Main Street Theatre’s former owners, Don and Dawn Arthur, had closed the venue for good. However, the Columbiana Cultural Collective was formed with the goal of raising some $1.5 million to purchase and renovate the building, then reopen it as a community arts and culture center.

Earlier this month, John and Beth Kufleitner offered to buy the theater and sell it to the Collective in five years without interest, according to a WKBN-27 report.

In 2007, the Arthurs invested around $1 million to restore the Main Street Theatre, reopening it in 2009 as the headquarters of Crown Theater Co. The 400-seat theater has also been used for films and concerts.
