QUINCY – State Street Theater and Calftown Café have announced their holiday schedules and updated plans for the winter season.
In a press release, Brian Stitt, manager of the State Street Theater and Calftown Cafe, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer a full-service destination for the holidays, with casual and delicious cuisine at the coffee and high cocktails. in the theater, while showcasing Quincy’s vast local talent. We look forward to making Calftown a local vacation destination for the community.
The State Street Theater will be open to the public as a cocktail bar every Thursday and Friday night in November and December, excluding Thanksgiving night. The theater will provide a relaxing escape from the hectic season with laid-back, cozy ambiances and creative cocktails.
The theater offers a full lineup of seasonal events. Gypsy Tango Foxtrot will return to theaters on November 23, and the theater will screen the movie “My Man Godfrey” on November 26. The theater will host the Big River Swing Machine monthly free concert on December 26th. 14.
Opened in 1938, the State Street Theater was originally built as a state-of-the-art movie theater. It has been transformed into an elegant and versatile event venue for concerts, films, weddings and private events.

The Calftown Café celebrated its first anniversary on October 15. To celebrate, the cafe will be offering a variety of seasonal promotions and discounts. The cafe will update its hours of operation to allow for more weekend options. It will be open Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The cafe will serve coffee and its signature cookies at the district’s annual Christkindl Market on November 12 and at the Frese Ornamental Nursery Christmas Market on December 3.
Calftown Café is a daytime sandwich and cafe, offering a place to get together, read a book or play a board game. The cafe offers delivered catering options, which you can view at calftowncafe.com/catering.
