State Street Theater seeks cast and crew for its production of the classic tale “Peter Pan” featuring everyone’s favorite characters Wendy, Peter Pan, Tinkerbell and Captain Hook.
Cast auditions will take place on Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15 from 3-5 p.m.
The theater is also looking for crew members to help with costumes, technology, backstage crew, stage manager, front desk help, makeup, and painting.
Based on the classic tale by JM Barrie and with an unforgettable score by Morris “Momentum” Charlap and Jule Styne with lyrics by Carolyn Leigh, Betty Comden and Adolph Green, Peter Pan begins when Peter and his fairy sidekick, Tinkerbell, visit the Darling children’s nursery late at night and, with a sprinkle of pixie dust, begin a magical journey through the stars that none of them will ever forget.
In the adventure of a lifetime, travelers come face to face with a ticking crocodile, a band of clumsy pirates and, of course, the evil Captain Hook.
There are a variety of roles available, and actors and actresses of all ages are welcome to audition, including children.
Beginner actors are strongly encouraged and welcome. The auditions will be a cold reading of the script and the singing.
Auditions open at State Street Theater Co., 1 N. State Street, enter Washington Street parking lot, backstage door. Guests are reminded not to park in the parking lot behind Emerson-Union Apartments.
Rehearsals will take place from May to July.
Performances will take place Friday through Sunday, July 8 through July 10.
