A Fresno-based theater technology company has partnered with global licensors to launch a new streaming service in response to the current pandemic.
Broadway Media Distribution of Fresno has partnered with Music Theater International, a leading music theater licensing company, as well as its ticketing partner ShowTix4U, to create a service for theater organizations to broadcast their performances live. – from the filming of the performance to the sale of tickets – and to have license royalties paid automatically in a single solution.
There are currently over 75,000 educational, community and regional theater organizations in North America, and in the aftermath of COVID-19, these organizations and schools have suffered a detrimental and potentially lasting impact on ticket sales.
Broadway Media has introduced ShowStream, a line of software and hardware where groups can capture live performances with a suite of services including software, training and rental / sale of streaming equipment, enabling the creation of shoots at one camera for multi-camera presentations.
Founded in 2013 by Quentin Sanford, Broadway Media began by providing digital backdrop services for live theatrical performances. Sanford grew up playing at the Good Company Players and Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theater in the Tower District of Fresno, where he developed a love for the performing arts.
“Realizing that producers – like Good Company Players – create art with extremely limited resources, I set out to create a business that would make theater more financially accessible.” Sanford said. “Creating software that breaks down barriers and frees up revenue for these struggling institutions is a true manifestation of our company’s mission. “
