The cast of Netflix ‘Cheer’ debuts at the Michigan Lottery Amphitheater in June

For the first time this summer, the cast of the popular Netflix series “Cheer” will go on tour, including a stop in Sterling Heights at the Michigan Lottery Amphitheater on June 28.

Cheer Live features cheerleaders, goblets, flyers and more from Navarro College and Trinity Valley Community College, the two Texas schools featured on the show, now in its second season. The live show is created by Monica Aldama and Andy Cosferent, the coaches of the Emmy-winning series.

“I’m so excited to be cheering again and feeling like I’m playing and going on tour,” Morgan Simianer, one of the show’s stars, said in a press release about the tour. “We all come together without the competitions and the pressure – it’s going to be so much fun! I want all the cheerleaders to see this and think it can be me one day.

Athletes play live in a non-competitive fashion, without the constraints of scorecards, judges and time limits. Besides Simianer, other “Cheer” stars are set to appear on the tour, including Gabi Butler, Maddy Brum, Angel Rice, Dee Joseph, James Thomas, Jeron Hazelwood, Gillian Rupert, Cassadee Dunlap and others.

Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show on June 28 at the Michigan Lottery Amphitheater in Freedom Hill go on sale at 10 a.m. on February 4. Prices start at $30. Seats on the lawn are $15. Get tickets at, or or in person at the Little Caesars Arena box office.
